Meet Your Pharmacist
Kim Phillips, Pharm.D., is a 1986 graduate of Riverside High School and a 1992 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy. After graduating with highest honors and receiving her Doctor of Pharmacy degree, she completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency with Methodist Hospitals of Memphis (now Methodist University Hospital), where she was instrumental in beginning the Patient Care Area Pharmacy program which combined clinical pharmacy services with order entry and dispensing in the patient care areas (in-patient floors). She went on to become Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator for Methodist Hospital South, one of Methodist's satellite hospitals in the underserved Whitehaven area. After establishing a clinical program at Methodist Hospital South, she and her family relocated to the Parsons area. She worked for West Tennessee Healthcare until Jerry Bell offered her a part-time pharmacist position at City Drug Store, where she originally developed her love for the profession of pharmacy as a clerk/technician at 16 years of age. She worked alongside Jerry for 16 years until she and her husband, Tony, purchased the pharmacy in October of 2012. Kim has received her immunization certification and is an active member of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association and the National Community Pharmacists Association. She served on a workgroup for the development of Tennessee's CPESN (community pharmacy enhanced services network) and serves as a clinical preceptor for Union University School of Pharmacy. Kim and Tony have two children. Their daughter, Bayli, is a graduate of the University of Memphis and currently attends UTHSC College of Dentistry. Their son, Auston, attends the University of Memphis as a pre-pharmacy major.
